How to request a quote that gets a fast, accurate price

Preparing a quote request at a desk

When a supplier receives a request that says only "please send your best price for sulphur", the first reply is usually a list of questions. Every round of questions costs a day or two. Sending five details up front turns that into a single reply with a real price.

1. Product and specification

Name the product and the specification that matters to your process — purity, grade, size or any standard you buy to. If you have a spec sheet from a previous supplier, attach it.

2. Quantity — and how often

A one-off 500 MT order and 500 MT every month are priced differently. Say whether this is a trial, a single shipment or a regular contract.

3. Destination and delivery terms

Give the destination port or city, and the delivery term you prefer, such as FOB, CFR or DAP. Freight is often a large part of the final price, so the destination changes the quote.

4. Packaging

Bulk, big bags or 25–50 kg bags? Packaging affects both cost and which suppliers can quote.

5. Timing

When do you need the goods loaded or delivered? A realistic window helps us match you with the right source.

A good request in one line: "Granular sulphur, 99.9% min, 2,000 MT trial, CFR Karachi, 1 MT big bags, loading in December."

Our quote form asks for exactly these details, so you can send a complete request in two minutes. We reply within 2 business days.
